Ellen Pao, the former Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers partner suing the firm for gender discrimination, can question a colleague about whether she was upset about a dinner that only male partners at the firm attended at former Vice President Al Gore’s apartment.
Lawyers for Pao and Kleiner sparred Monday in court ahead of a trial set for Feb. 17 over Pao’s claims that Kleiner discriminated against women in pay and promotions in a case has drawn attention to bias claims in Silicon Valley.
