Italy Estimates EU60 Billion in Tax Evaded Last Year, Sole Says

Italian finance police estimate about 60 billion euros ($78 billion) in taxes were evaded last year in the country, daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported, citing an interview with head of the Guardia di Finanza, Nino Di Paolo. Measures put in place by the government will help better fight tax evasion in the future, the Italian newspaper cited Di Paolo as saying.
